Police in Keumbu, Kisii County, have detained two secondary school students after they were allegedly found with a stolen funnel from a posho mill. The large piece of equipment was reportedly uprooted from their school’s posho mill. Keumbu area chief Dennis Bikeri confirmed the incident.
The suspects, one a Form 4 student and the other in Form 2, are accused of stealing the equipment from their school. Authorities are still unclear about the destination of the funnel, which is said to weigh several kilograms.
The two students are expected to appear in court on Monday, September 16.
In a separate incident, police are also investigating a theft that occurred last night in Riondong’a village, Keumbu, where unknown individuals broke into Kennedy Ongaki’s home and stole six goats. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
