Police in Kiambu have arrested two suspected criminals linked to a string of robberies in Embakasi and Kikuyu.
The suspects, identified as Kelvin Kasyoki Kyalo and Wilson Ngethe Waweru, were apprehended at their hideout in Thogoto, Kiambu County, while inside a Mazda CX-5.
Police say the vehicle’s original registration number, KDC 077P, had been altered to read KDD 677P — an apparent attempt to mask its identity.
“In a well-coordinated operation, National Police Service officers, today, 30 May, 2025 apprehended two notorious criminals one Kelvin Kasyoki Kyalo and Wilson Ngethe Waweru, who are suspected of orchestrating a series of crimes in Embakasi and Kikuyu,” read part of a statement issued by the police.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed an assortment of tools believed to have been used in criminal activity.
Among the recovered items were master keys for car locks, crude weapons typically used in housebreaking, number plate stickers for disguise, and other materials linked to theft and burglary.
Detectives have commended the public for the tip-off that led to the arrest saying that the suspects are currently in custody awaiting arraignment.
