Two suspects arrested as police seize 12 sacks of bhang in Kwale

Two suspected drug traffickers were arrested on Wednesday following a police-led raid operation in the Kombani area of Kwale County, which resulted in the seizure of 12 sacks of bhang.

Kassim Omar Konerwa, 34, and Issa Omar Konerwa, 24, were apprehended at a house in the said area in possession of the outlawed substance, which police believe had been stored at the homestead pending distribution.

“They have been placed in custody pending arraignment,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said in a statement on X.

The arrest of the two comes amid ongoing operations by anti-drug detectives across the region, aimed at combating the drug use and trafficking problem that once plagued the area.
