Two suspects linked to murder of Utalii College student arrested

Detectives based in Starehe have arrested two suspects linked to the murder of a 25-year-old Utalii College student.

Job Chihonyi was killed a few metres from Utalii college along Thika Road on February 5, 2023.

The suspects – Kevin Ngechu and Maxwell Omukuba – are said to have cornered Chihonyi, stolen his mobile phone and then stabbed him in the chest leaving him for dead as they escaped on a motorcycle.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said on its Twitter handle on Saturday, “A mobile phone believed to be proceeds of crime was also recovered from Kevin Ngechu, while a black motorcycle registration number KMGF 828K, that was used as a get away means on the fateful day was also recovered.”

The two are suspects are in custody and will be charged with murder.
