Police officers in Konoin, Bomet county, on Monday arrested two women after a foetus was found abandoned on the roadside.

Chemalal sub-location Assistant Chief Samuel Kirui confirmed the incident – noting that the foetus may have been deposited on the road in the early hours of Monday.

“The foetus was discovered by passers-by who immediately informed the authorities,” said Kirui.

The main suspect was arrested by police officers from the Kimulot station. She was later taken to Chebangang Health Centre for medical check-up and review.

A second suspect, also a woman, was arrested in connection to the incident – with police claiming that she may have hosted the main suspect.

The two women were taken to Kimulot Police Station for questioning and further investigation.
