Real Madrid players held an inquest following a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday.

Los Blancos were completely dominated at the Emirates, suffering their third consecutive loss.

Declan Rice scored a pair of stunning free-kicks, before Mikel Merino swept home the ball to give the Gunners a big lead ahead of the second leg.

Spanish television program, El Chiringuito, has now revealed that there was a lot of inquisition in the Real Madrid dressing room afterwards.

Midfielder Federico Valverde led the talk about how they can stage a comeback against Arsenal in the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu.

Valverde accused his team-mates of failing to react after Rice’s brace, saying: “Two free kicks and we don’t react.”

The comment from the Uruguayan triggered responses from Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.

“We have to prove that we are Real Madrid, we have 15 champions,” one of the four players apparently said as the dressing room fell silent.

“We have to score in the first fifteen minutes. If we do that, we’ll come back.”
