Former Manchester United striker, Dimitar Berbatov has warned Kobbie Mainoo not to get carried away with his breakthrough performance for the Red Devils against Everton.

Berbatov issued the warning ahead of Man United’s UEFA Champions League tie against Galatasaray on Wednesday.

Recall that Mainoo made his first Premier League start for Man United against Everton at Goodison Park last weekend.

The 18-year-old impressed against the host as Man United won 3-0.

He is now expected to start against Galatasaray in a make or break Champions League fixture.

Speaking about Mainoo, Berbatov told Betfair that the midfielder will have difficult games in the future.

“Lot of people are rightly praising Kobbie Mainoo’s performance. Let’s hope it is the first of many because sometimes we are too quick to jump to conclusions,” Berbatov said.

“Just let the boy be, let’s hope he’s going to continue on the path of his development and let’s hope he will have many more games like this. He will have difficult games in the future.

“Let’s take it easy for a moment, it’s just one game! It’s a great start, but in the past, there were players with five great games, but they disappeared.”
