Former Juventus and Bayern Munich star Luca Toni has given his verdict on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

Toni branded Osimhen as a ‘true striker’ after the Nigerian scored a goal in Napoli’s Champions League 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Wednesday night.

Goals from Robert Lewandowski and Osimhen ensured both Barcelona and Napoli drew in the Champions League Round of 16 first-leg tie.

Osimhen was under the watchful attention of Barcelona’s Iñigo Martínez when André-Frank Anguissa sent him a simple pass.

The former Lille star held his ground to receive the ball, shielded it from Martínez, and turned to equalise for the host.

“Osimhen withstood the defender’s impact, protected the ball, turned well, and then in front of the goal, the goalkeeper was wrong-footed,” Toni told Amazon Prime Video as per Tutto Napoli. A goal from a true striker,” he said.

“Napoli played a great match; they had a lot to lose, but instead, they emerged from Barcelona’s dominance and demonstrated that they can scare Barcelona.”
