The family of Alphy Migasha is demanding for the immediate arrest and prosecution of a military officer who allegedly assaulted their kin to death in Nairobi’s Umoja 1 estate.
This as the autopsy report revealed Alphy died of blood clot in the lung. Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor says the clot formed from injuries Alphy sustained when his leg was broken during the assault by the suspect.
Stella Okinda, the deceased’s mother, said: “Postmortem wamemaliza na daktari amesema Alphy aliumia mbavu, kifua na mgongo. Hiyo kupigwa ndio sababu alikufa. Alikuwa na clot kwa lungs na hata alitapika damu ndio akakufa. Mimi nataka haki ya huyu mtoto wangu.”
CCTV footage on the fateful day captured a man who has since been identified as Nicholas Njue Ireri assaulting Alphy while at an entertainment joint on December 22, 2025 in Umoja 1.
Alphy would later succumb to injuries but the military officer is still at large.
“Nauliza, mbona polisi hawataki kushika mwenye alifanya hivi, mimi naumia sana, mtoto ndio huyu ako hapa na ameenda,” lamented Ms. Okinda.
The family appealed to the homicide detectives who have taken over the murder probe, to ensure justice for the untimely and painful death of a man who was the pillar of a family.
