US election: We’ll have a great World Cup in 2026 – FIFA President tells Trump

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has told US President-elect Donald Trump that football fans will have a great World Cup in 2026.

Infantino said this while congratulating Trump ahead of his return as US President.

Trump was declared the winner of the US presidential election on Wednesday after he defeated Democrat rival Kamala Harris.

“Congratulations Mr President!’ Infantino wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.

“We will have a great FIFA World Cup and a great FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America! Football Unites the World!”

The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
