Socialite Vera Sidika is embracing her newfound single life with enthusiasm, recently hosting a lavish divorce party that has captivated social media.
The mother of two shared videos from the event, sparking mixed reactions among her followers.
Some fans even questioned whether she was ever truly married.
In response to the scepticism, Vera took the bold step of publicly sharing her marriage certificate to dispel any doubts about her union with singer Brown Mauzo.
This move came after claims emerged suggesting that Vera’s marriage to Mauzo was merely a means to have children, given Mauzo’s reputedly desirable genetics.
Addressing her critics directly on social media, Vera expressed her frustration:
“Why would I lie about being legally married? Like, is there a reward for marriage that would make me lie about it?” She further explained that her parents were unaware of the marriage because it was a private affair.
“My parents didn’t know I got married because we didn’t do a wedding ceremony. We did Nikkah with the Sheikh and he is well-known in Kenya. It happened so randomly and so fast.”
Vera also refuted allegations that she used Mauzo solely to have children, stating emphatically:
“You were never in the marriage to know what happened so hush!! If I wanted kids ata (even a) sperm bank iko nazo (would have been an option). With zero baby daddy drama. And I wouldn’t need to waste three years of my life married just to get kids!”
To back her claims, Vera displayed what she asserted was a verified marriage certificate of their union, conducted under Muslim rites.
According to the certificate, Vera and Mauzo were married for three years.
“Everyone with this mentality let me make it clear to you,” she declared, silencing the doubters.
Brown Mauzo has also confirmed their marriage in the past.
Vera and Mauzo have two children together. They ended their relationship in 2023.
