Vetlab hosts inaugural leg of East Africa Golf tour

Mercy Nyanchama is among 60 elite ladies amateur golfers taking part in the inaugural East Africa Golf tour at Vetlab.

The opening leg of the recently launched East Africa Golf Tour tees off friday at Vetlab Sports Club.

The event will also act as the first Kenya Ladies Golf Union Open Meeting of the year, where over 60 elite amateur ladies will take part.

Tournament sponsor KCB is set to host two golf clinics for ladies and juniors on Friday afternoon and Sunday morning, respectively.

Speaking on the event, KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru said, “We are glad to have partnered with the Kenya Ladies Golf Union, to host this first event on our calendar. This sponsorship speaks to the tour’s goal of expanding the reach of the sport of golf across the region.”

Mercy Nyanchama is among 60 elite ladies amateur golfers taking part in the inaugural East Africa Golf tour at Vetlab.

“In addition to this weekend, we will be hosting another two ladies-only events during the tour. She added.

Action in the KLGU open will tee off at 7:10 AM, with Susan Ngure and Keziah Korir off the first tee. Also in the field are former winners, Catherine Oosterwijk, Eleanor Wambui, and Agnes Nyakio.

From Vetlab, the KCB East Africa Golf tour will move to Eldoret Sports Club for the second leg on the 22nd of April, before heading to Limuru on the 29th.
