Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has called on Kenyans in the Mt. Kenya region to reject tribal politics and support President William Ruto’s government.

During the Madaraka Day celebrations on Saturday, Waiguru emphasized the importance of rejecting divisive politics promoted by some leaders to foster national development and unity.

She affirmed that the Mt. Kenya region stands firmly behind President Ruto’s administration to help it fulfill its ambitious promises to the Kenyan people.

“It is time for elected leaders to work for the people,” Waiguru said.

Waiguru said the region has reaped big from the Kenya Kwanza government, adding that she will not be silenced by people who want to elicit unnecessary wrangles at the expense of the nation’s unity.

“Kirinyaga has reaped big from its support and cooperation with the national government,” Waiguru said.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru was joined by Kirinyaga Central MP Gachoki Gitari, her Deputy Governor, and over 20 Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) during the Madaraka Day celebrations.

Gitari echoed Waiguru’s sentiments, urging other leaders to put an end to divisive politics and premature campaigning. The group collectively called for unity and support for President William Ruto’s government to ensure it can deliver on its promises to the nation.
