Kenyan content creator Azziad Nasenya has addressed the on-air rumours that her lavish lifestyle is being funded by a sponsor.
Speaking to producer Philip Karanja alias Phil Director, Azziad attributed her fame and success to her hard work and resilience and slammed critics dubbing her success as ‘Overnight success’.
The renowned TikTok queen also stated that the satisfaction she gets from owning her success, keeps her moving and soaring higher.
While probed about the ongoing speculations about her lifestyle being funded by a sponsor, Azziad refuted the claims stating that everything she has is through her own sweat and dedication.
She jokingly asked where people find these sponsors she hears about so she can get herself one.
“By the way, where do people get those sponsors from? You know me, I hear people say oh, sponsor. Where are those sponsors? I’ve never. Could you people give me one?” Azziad jested.
Azziad, hard work and resilience
The 23-year-old opened up on why she is so committed and dedicated in everything she does citing that her nature doesn’t leave room for begging.
She stated that she likes to break a sweat to get what she wants as she doesn’t believe in being handed things.
“I am the kind of person who is scared to beg. So I never put myself in that position. I go out there to get what I want, so I put in the hard work and effort,” she explained
“Because there’s beauty, or rather there is satisfaction in getting money from your sweat. Oh, I sleep well knowing that I’ve worked for it. It’s mine. No one gave it to me,” she added.
The content creator revealed that she is yet to get where she wants to be noting that she has to put in more work and sweat till she gets there.
Azziad noted that there is no shortcut to making it in this world advocating for waking up, showing up and putting in the work.
Azziad speaks on cyberbullying
The TikToker recalled how cyberbullying took a toll on her when she became famous noting that she didn’t know what it was.
“I never knew what cyberbullying was, or I knew but I didn’t know people could do that, or it happens,” she said.
“It really took a toll on him, I almost fell into depression, choose kindness, if you just wake up and decide to hate on Azziad just because she danced or smiled,” she added.
“But I had a supportive team on my side that held me down, they are the reason I am who I am today, it really takes a village,” she expressed.
Recently, the content creator sued fellow TikToker Brian Chira for allegedly defaming her.
According to his lawyer Michael Masinde, the content creator was charged with offences under section 27 of the computer misuse and cybercrime act.
Brian Chira pleaded not guilty to charges during his appearance at Kibera Law Courts on Monday, July 31, 2023.
“He was arrested on Thursday at noon and was not presented at any court until today. My client is fundraising at the moment, we are hopeful that he will manage to raise the cash bail,” Brian Chira’s lawyer noted.
According to Azziad’s lawyer identified as Gertrude Kibare, Chira was arrested in Nakuru before he was booked into a Wilson Airport police station.
The lawyer claimed Chira used defamatory statements against Azziad during his TikTok live session. The TikToker was also accused of sharing her contacts with his audience.
“Some time last week he went live online and also shared Azziad’s contacts. My client has been buzzed with a lot of calls and messages since then. Chira allegedly committed computer misuse and cyber crimes and my client decided to pursue the matter legally. The matter is under investigation,” the advocate stated.
