Chief Administrative Secretary Charles Njagua aka Jaguar and his close-knit group of friends have successfully raised close to Sh1 million to support popular rapper Colonel Mustapha, who is facing financial hardship.

During the relaunch of his MainSwitch Studio, Jaguar told the press that he wanted to be like Mustapha when he started his music career.

The former MP also revealed that former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko promised Mustapha a job opportunity.

“On Tuesday, we will hand over the money to his mother. Mustapha has never disrespected us or treated us with contempt. He has always been like family to us,” said Jaguar.

Mustapha, who was present at the relaunch event, gave an emotional account of his journey, revealing that he started working at the construction site in 2022.

He explained that during this time he explored various means of survival.

Unfortunately, he had to sell his car to fund a music video in the hope that it would reignite his career, but the song failed to make an impact.

“I have decided to open separate accounts for my mother and myself. I want to give her stability, happiness and help her fulfil her dreams,” Mustapha said.

He explained how he had sold his car and invested the money in filming the music video hoping that the song would become a hit.

He also used the money to pay off some outstanding debts.

Because of his circumstances, Mustapha resorted to working on a construction site.

He ensured that no one identified him as a celebrity to maintain his anonymity.

“I did the job in secret, hiding my tattoos by wearing hoods and walking with a mask.”

Mustapha has vowed not to return to the music industry.
