Watchman arrested for defilement of 4-year-old girl waiting for mum at school

Police in Longisa, Bomet County are holding a 58-year-old school watchman after he allegedly defiled a 4-year-old PP2 pupil within the school premises.

Richard Towett, a watchman at the Longisa Sunshine Academy, allegedly lured the victim on Friday evening and defiled her in one of the rooms when no one was. The girl was waiting for her mother picked her up later at the school premises.

According to Bomet County police commander Edward Imbwaga, the mother of the victim raised the alarm after her daughter suffered pain while relieving herself at home, prompting her to inquire.

The victim, when asked, revealed that the school guard locked her in one of the rooms and undressed her before committing the heinous crime.

The police boss added that officers arrested the suspect while was still performing his duties at the school as usual.

The minor was attended to at the Longisa Referral Hospital and discharged.
