Police are investigating an incident in Webuye in which a man died following a quarrel with his two sisters over food.

According to the police, officers got a report from the area chief, Ezekiel Nyongesa about the death.

Officers said the man, aged 43 first attacked his 18-year-old sister by the name Josephine Nasimiyu, with a piece of wood as he demanded to be served something to eat.

Her screams for help attracted her sister, Diana’s attention, who was nearby.

Upon Diana’s, 30, arrival at the scene to try and rescue her sister, they got another piece of wood and hit him on the head and he fell to the ground.

He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are detaining the two sisters as investigations proceed.

The man’s aunt regretted the incident, saying the man went home in the evening and found his sister cooking and attacked her with a piece of wood and she and her other sister acted in defence.

She added that the man had been struggling with alcohol.
