Kenya Power has announced a temporary blackout scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, affecting several regions across six counties.
The utility company stated that the blackout is necessary for routine maintenance purposes.
Specific areas within Nairobi County, Nyeri County, Bomet County, Uasin Gishu County, Kisii County, and Embu County will experience temporary power outages.
The blackout schedule includes Nairobi’s Garden Estate area, where power will be shut down from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm affecting Safari Park and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, areas like Muruguru, Githiru, and Marua will experience a blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, impacting several local businesses and residents.
Similarly, regions like Gacharageini, Kagongo, and Mioro in Nyeri County will have their power cut from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Meanwhile, in Kiawarigi and Gitunduti areas, the blackout will last from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Bomet County will also be affected, with places like Mulot and Longisa experiencing power outages from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This will affect establishments such as Famous Gate Hotel, Fair Hills Hotel, and Longisa County Referral Hospital.
Residents of Eldoret Town in Uasin Gishu County will experience a temporary blackout from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, affecting areas like Tebeclan near Cereal and Kamukunji Estate.
Furthermore, Kisii County’s Menyinkwa and Nyachenge areas will have their power switched off from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, impacting services provided by local hospitals and businesses.
