Kenya Power has announced a planned power outage affecting parts of 10 counties on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
In a notice released on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the utility company cited routine network maintenance as the reason for the blackout.
In Nairobi, residents in Mihango, including areas around Kenya Builders, Karagitha, Part Mihango, Comboni, Maono, Twiga, Kwa Kados, Medina, Royal Ambassadors, and nearby customers, will experience electricity disruptions from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Garage Road and the surrounding areas will also be affected during the same hours. Parts of Rosslyn, including the Canadian Embassy, the residence of the American Embassy, and Rosslyn Lone Tree, will have power cut from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In the Central Rift region, parts of Nakuru County, including Kabarak University, Kabarak Guest House, Kabarak High School, Kabarak Bakery, Upper Mangu, Maraga Farm, Ngata Kaptich, Kirobon AGC, Olrongai, Tulwobmoi, Marigo B, parts of Rafiki Farm, Oloika, Raw Hide, and nearby customers, will experience outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Parts of Kericho County around Kenegut Market, including Torsogik Dispensary, Mochorwa Dispensary, and Moi Sitotwet, will also be affected during the same hours.
In Bomet County, areas around Olpisiai and GK Prisons, including Lolgorian, Mararianda, Kichwa Tembo, Angama, Partakilat, Mara Engai, Mara West, Angata Barrikoi, Gwitembe, Oldonyorok, and Masurura, will face outages from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Parts of Siaya County, including Usenge, Wangarot, Nyamunye, Jaramogi University, Wambasa, Uhanya, and surrounding areas, will have a power cut from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In the Mount Kenya region, parts of Nyeri County, including Kiangai and Kianwe, and nearby villages such as Gatura, Kamunyaka, Miiri, Kiriko, Kaharo, Kiambagathi, Kiahiti, Thunguri, Karerahungu, Borokero, and other adjacent customers, will experience outages from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Parts of Kirinyaga County, including Difathers, Kamunyange, Kajiji, Kathiriku, Ichangi, Karuangi, Mugamba Ciura, and surrounding areas, will be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Kiambu County, areas around Witeithie, Kibute, and Ndarugu, including Total Gatitu, Cravers Hotel, TIBS, Vincentian Prayer House, Mangu High, Compuera High, Ndarugu Coffee Estate, Witeithie Estate, parts of Ngoingwa, Thiwasco, Albizzia Tola, Ukombozi, and adjacent customers, will face power outages from 9:00 am. Parts of Kitui County, including Kyuso, Katse, Tseikuru, Gai, Kakoongo, Mivukoni, Nguuni, Mwangea, Ngongoni, Ciampiu, Kamusiliu, Tseikuru, and Katse, will also be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Along the Coast, in Taita Taveta County, areas around Sir Ramson Primary School and nearby customers will experience electricity disruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
