Amid the heightened political skirmishes witnessed in Kisii County, Governor Simba Arati has now questioned why South Mugirango MP is not being questioned by authorities on his alleged involvement in the chaos.

Osoro, who doubles as the National Assembly Majority Whip, has been fronted by Arati as the main instigator of violence in the county which has been witnessed in a series of public gatherings held by the governor.

Speaking on Tuesday, Arati argued that police authorities are always swift to apprehend leaders who engage in disruptive acts but Osoro has not been summoned by anyone despite the apparent rowdiness he has exhibited.

“If you look at this MP in Mumias called Salaysa when he slaps someone he is arrested immediately. Is Osoro above the law? Who is he? That is the question I would want to ask,” he said speaking on Citizen TV.

He however fingered the National Government for remaining mum on the incident which he says ought to have prompted an address from President William Ruto.

Arati believes that the government has a hand in the melee, arguing that it has fueled the chaos to frustrate his leadership in Kisii.

“I do not blame Osoro I blame those working under the president who have said that I cannot work for five years,” he said.

“The truth of the matter is all police units have been emasculated because the MP has taken the role of the county commander and the National Government understands what is happening because there is DCI, NIS and the officers have been threatened and been transferred.”

He however asserted that he still has a cooperative relationship with President Ruto but whatever they discuss has always been adulterated by individuals who oppose him.

The Kisii County boss intimated that the chaos stemmed from his move to deny a few individuals nonexistent tenders to engage in graft. He however didi not name the said individuals.

“I believe that Osoro is being used by a few people in government because there are people in the government up to the top who have issued imaginary tenders where people have been paid millions of shillings and they even wanted more payment. My fight began because of this corruption,” stated Arati.

“Any leader making noise in Kisii is one whom I have denied a tender or declined to pay them money for their imaginary projects.”

He has claimed that owing to the cases of violence witnessed in the three occurrences, people have died and scores have been injured.

“Police officers are responsible for some deaths. A young man is seen at Simba’s event and they say, let them die so that we instill fear in them,” said the Governor.

Osoro on his part has absolved himself from the accusations, vowing to escalate the matter to court to file a claim for damages made against him.

Speaking with Citizen TV, Osoro said he will be awaiting the findings of ongoing investigations by relevant police authorities before making his move.

“The incidents that have occurred have nothing to do with me. If there is anyone to blame it is Arati himself. I will report him for slander,” he said on Tuesday.
