Milele FM radio host and actress Jacquey Nyaminde, widely known as Wilbroda, has questioned the police handling of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju, saying she was deeply shocked by what she witnessed.
She explained that the incident left her unable to sleep and troubled by how Tuju was treated during the arrest. She added that the situation raised concerns about how people are handled by authorities.
She said the events she saw the previous day stayed on her mind and affected her rest. She explained that the manner in which Tuju was handled appeared rough and disturbing. She added that the incident made her reflect on power and how quickly it can change.
“I am still in shock, kulingana na mambo ambayo niliona jana, mimi sijalala vizuri. Nikiona vile alibebwa msobe msobe na maafisa wa polisi,” Wilbroda said on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

She explained that Tuju, who once served as an MP and a minister, was treated in a way that surprised her. She said it was difficult to understand how someone in his former position could be handled in such a manner. She added that the situation showed how power can be temporary.
“Alikua mishandled mpaka akakaa amejisahau akipiga nduru. To see this guy who was once an honourable MP, a minister. Ya kwamba huyu jamaa amembaya amekua minister, hii kitu wanasema power is transient, power is,” Wilbroda said.
She questions how power changes treatment
She said she could not believe what she was seeing and questioned the actions of the officers involved. She explained that the situation made her reflect on how individuals are treated when they are no longer in power. She added that respect can change depending on one’s position.
“Nilikaa nikashangaa nikasema Huyu ni Tuju anabebwa hivyi? Hawa ni polisi?” Wilbroda said.

She explained that the incident should serve as a lesson to those in positions of power. She said that people should understand that power does not last forever. She added that treatment from others can change when someone is no longer influential.
“Niliangalia nikasema if there is anyone who is in power right now, this should be a powerful lesson. Hakuna mtu atakua anakutambua,” Wilbroda said.
She also referenced the incident involving Tuju, saying it left a strong impression on her. She explained that what she saw raised questions about how such situations are handled. She added that the event remains in her thoughts.
“Ile kitu nimeona jana, kitu ambayo Raphael Tuju alifanyiwa…” Wilbroda said.
Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo also earlier accused police officers of rough and brutal handling of Raphael Tuju during his arrest on Monday, March 23, 2026.
The claims come amid a whirlwind of events surrounding Tuju’s brief disappearance, resurfacing, and subsequent detention over allegations of giving misleading information to authorities.
