Controversial singer Willy Paul has reacted to his nagging, well-known habit of sliding into women’s DMs (Direct Messages) on Instagram.
The singer has been exposed several times by different women over the habit, which some social media users have termed as irritating.
Whereas Willy Paul acknowledges his misdemeanor, he has defended himself saying he has never meant any harm every time he slides into the DM of strangers, especially women his favorite target.
“When you see someone attractive wouldn’t you want to say hello to them? That’s just it. I will greet you in the name of God.” Willy Paul said on the Mic Cheque podcast.
The singer went on to pour cold water on the nagging claims, insisting that’s not the case.
“Honestly though, if you ask most of the women I’ve messaged. When they give me their number, the first thing I do is send a Bible verse. That’s where we always begin and see how it goes as we dig deeper in the word,” he added.
Appearing unbothered Willy Paul has no plans to stop the behavior as he believes he is not hurting anyone.
In July, the singer announced on Instagram that he would be reaching out to beautiful Kenyan women via direct messages for a significant project.
“Are you a beautiful lady? Model type? Well, expect me in your DMs personally. So if you see me asking for your number, don’t be surprised… I’ve got work for you!” he wrote.
Willy Paul’s unconventional approach to connecting with women continues to stir reactions and discussions on social media platforms.
