A woman has been charged with forgery and making false documents in a protracted legal dispute over a parcel of land near Moi Barracks in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
Miriam Kubai is accused of attempting to defraud the Ministry of Defence regarding the land’s ownership. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kubai is an attorney of the Leseru Tebeson Farmers Society.
She allegedly forged an amended confirmation certificate of a grant, falsely representing it as an official document issued by the High Court in Kakamega.
Before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Eldoret, Kubai pleaded not guilty and was granted a Ksh.1.25 million bond.
