Police in Uganda’s Kyotera District are searching for a woman who allegedly attacked her co-wife with a syringe containing suspected poison.

Namubiru Jackie is said to have attacked Nakimera Lydia, aged 23, a salon owner, on the afternoon of April 20.

“She was rushed to Bulamu clinic and was later transferred to Byansi’s clinic in Masaka City in critical condition. The victim died from the poisonous substance on 23.04.2023 at around 6:30 pm,” Ugandan police said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Enanga Fred condemned the incident, attributing it to jealousy and domestic rivalry.
