Shock has engulfed Kagio town in Kirinyaga County after a 38-year-old woman killed her boyfriend by stabbing him five times.

According to Kirinyaga West sub-county police commander Moses Koskei, the woman who is a barmaid in the trading centre surrendered at Kagio police station on Monday after the incident.

“She stabbed his boyfriend five times; two times in his left thigh, two times in his right thigh and the fifth time she stabbed him in his private parts,” Koskei said.

Koskei said the man died after bleeding and police are investigating the circumstances under which the woman killed her lover.

“The two have rented the house along Baricho Road in this trading centre and we are told both hail from the Gichugu constituency,” Koskei said.

The police boss said they have not yet recovered the killer knife.

“We are expecting the suspect who is being held at Kagio police station to tell us where she hid the weapon which we will use as an exhibit,” Koskei said.

The body was taken to Kerugoya Referral Hospital mortuary.
