Police in Kirinyaga county have launched investigations after a middle-aged woman in Kagio town allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death.

While confirming the incident, Kirinyaga West sub-county police commander Moses Koskei noted that the suspect, 38, stabbed her partner five times; two times in his left thigh, two times on his right thigh and once on his private parts killing him.

Koskei added that the lady who was working as a barmaid in the area later surrendered at Kagio police station after committing the heinous act.

“The two have rented the house along Baricho Road in this trading centre and we are told both hail from the Gichugu constituency,” Koskei stated.

“She stabbed his boyfriend five times; two times in his left thigh, two times in his right thigh and the fifth time she stabbed him in his private parts,” he added.

Further, the police boss stated that the suspect is currently at the station’s cell and police are expecting to interrogate her and find the killer knife used during the crime.

“We are expecting the suspect who is being held at Kagio police station to tell us where she hid the weapon which we will use as an exhibit,” Koskei added.

Police accessed the scene and moved the body of the deceased to Kerugoya Referral Hospital mortuary.
Separate incident

The latest comes barely months after a 28-year-old woman in Kajiado county stabbed her husband and two children following domestic wrangles.

According to Kajiado North police commander Hussein Gura, the suspect first stabbed her two children to death before attacking her husband and later stabbed herself.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple were involved in a domestic dispute that led to the bizarre murders,” he said.

The building’s caretaker told police that he heard screams from the couple’s house in the wee hours of the morning.

Neighbours also claimed that they rushed to the couple’s door after hearing a commotion.

“As usual, we heard a commotion from the house, but we did not know it would end tragically. The two minors were lying in a pool of blood when we managed to open the door,” a neighbour stated.
