Bodaboda operators have expressed concern over the rising number of road accidents.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the riders highlighted that the Barsiele stretch along the Londiani-Muhoroni highway is particularly problematic.

The bodaboda riders, based at Barsiele trading centre in Kipkelion East Constituency, are urging the relevant authorities to take action.

Association vice chairman Emmanuel Yegon said, “Many people have lost their lives in road accidents.”

Amos Langat, another bodaboda rider, called on the Kenya Rural Roads Authority to install speed bumps along the stretch. “We need bumps to be erected to reduce these incidents,” he stated.

Yegon added that there have been five reported accidents in the last month alone.

They also appealed to the Kericho County government to relocate their bodaboda stage, which is currently situated by the roadside.
