Bongo star Rajab Abdul Kahali, popularly known as Harmonize, seemingly took a dig at his former boss Diamond Platnumz during an event in Kahama, Tanzania on Saturday, December 9. The shade was directed at Diamond after the recent theft of his green hat in Dodoma.
Diamond Platnumz’s hat was snatched by a fan while he was passing through a crowd in Dodoma a few days ago. The incident went viral, prompting Diamond to launch a manhunt for the thief and ordering his bodyguards to retrieve the stolen hat.
In a subtle jab at Diamond, Harmonize interacted with his fans in Kahama, keeping his hat securely on his head without any attempt of theft. The Kondegang boss stated, “Nobody can steal your hat when they really love you,” implying that he enjoys more love from fans compared to his former boss.
The incident involving Diamond’s hat attracted attention, with the stolen Grass HWC Celtics Cap from Mitchell & Ness valued at Sh6298.56 (Euro 37.95).
In the video footage, Diamond was seen being led through a crowd when his hat was snatched. He expressed his displeasure and instructed his bodyguards to find the thief. Later, a man claimed to have located the thief and handed the hat back to Diamond.
In response to the incident, Diamond distributed caps to thousands of fans during a concert, explaining, “People were surprised why I followed up on the cap because when someone steals from you, that shows they do not respect you. I appreciate that you have supported me, but if you want something from me, just ask, and I will give you.”
Acknowledging the need for enhanced security, Diamond added, “My bodyguards had not reached, and now I am forced to be walking with my security.” The hat incident is not the first time Diamond has faced theft, as valuable jewelry was stolen during a stage entrance in Lubumbashi, DR Congo, in 2022.
