Leaders allied to President William Ruto have supported the call for dialogues championed by ODM party leader Raila Odinga as they asked the opposition leaders led by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua to stop imaging of ascending to power through shortcuts.

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi who was speaking in Migori County on Sunday told the opposition leader to wait for the 2027 election.

Wandayi claims that the opposition leaders led by Gachagua are behind the Gen Z protest in the country saying that their plan to ascend to power through shortcut will not succeed adding that they should wait for the 2027 election.

“The protest was not by the youth, it was by leaders desiring to take leadership. They are hiding behind other people’s children. We warn them to stop that behaviour. They should wait for next elections,” said Wandayi.

The CS urged Kenya Kwanza critics to wait for the 2027 General Election since the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) have been fully constituted.

His remarks were echoed by South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro, who said that they support the national dialogues being championed by ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

Osoro said the leaders not interested in dialogue should give space to the Kenyans who are willing to participate.

The legislator also asked Gachagua to stop attacking Odinga as he is not his equal politically.
