Elon Musk’s first wife, Justine Wilson, has broken her silence in a new documentary, painting a deeply unflattering picture of their life together and the dynamics that ultimately unravelled their marriage.
The documentary, titled Musk, which had its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, features Justine recounting how her former husband made her feel diminished throughout their relationship.
She described feeling less like a life partner and more like someone working under him, a situation she said left her feeling insignificant.

Among the most striking claims Justine made was that she only came to understand the concept of gaslighting through her own experience in the marriage.
She alleged that Elon repeatedly pointed out areas where he felt she was falling short, creating an atmosphere that chipped away at her confidence.
She also recalled a moment that set the tone early on: at their wedding, she alleged that Elon told her:
“I am the alpha in this relationship,” as they danced together.
The remark, she suggested, was a sign of what was to come.
The former couple share six children, though their journey as parents was marked by profound tragedy. Their daughter Nevada passed away from sudden infant death syndrome at just 10 weeks old.
The documentary goes beyond Justine’s account, also featuring Elon’s former partner Ashley St. Clair, who made a headline-grabbing allegation of her own.
St. Clair claimed she turned down a KSh 25 billion non-disclosure agreement so she could take part in the film.
She said her reason was straightforward: she wanted to demonstrate to her children that speaking truth to power should carry no price tag.
Elon pushed back sharply against St. Clair’s account, flatly denying that any such offer was ever made and accusing her of a pattern of making false claims.
The Musk documentary has reignited scrutiny around the billionaire’s personal life, drawing fresh attention to accounts from several women who have been romantically linked to him over the years.
