Rachel Ruto commands attention at Mashujaa Day
The annual Mashujaa Day holiday, held every October 20, marks Kenya’s national day for honouring heroes who contributed to the country’s independence and development.
This year’s celebrations, themed “Celebrating Kenyan Heroes,” were held at the iconic Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, with President Ruto presiding over the event as head of state.
Rachel’s choice of Ankara fabric was a fitting nod to the occasion’s patriotic spirit, with the bold print and warm tones complementing the festive, ceremonial atmosphere at the stadium.
Her arrival preceded that of the president by a few minutes, with the Maroon Commandos band providing a musical backdrop as the crowd awaited his entrance.
