She paired the clip with a pointed message to her followers:

“Ladies, elections are round the corner. Let’s prepare!”

The video captures Ruth mid-punch, throwing a right-hand blow at a heavy bag suspended from the ceiling by chains against a red brick wall.

She wore a light pink top, black athletic trousers with three white stripes running down the side, and black-and-white sneakers.

Her right hand was wrapped in a gold glove, fully extended into the bag, while her left black glove stayed raised near her face in a defensive position.

Her gaze was locked on the bag throughout, and her form suggested she was not just there for the cameras.

The gym setting added to the atmosphere, with multiple large black heavy bags hanging around her and blue flooring visible beneath her feet.

“Just sit on the opponent; he’ll give up immediately.”

@Norah Silebwa:

“Those who ran to the comments section, come here.”

@Harrie Smart-move:

“Kindly do some kicks.”

@Peniel Ndegwa:

“No need to prepare; they will willingly be behind you.”

@Charloh Charloh:

“Just why am I staring at something else?”

@Laurence Marcus:

“Those blows can only kill a mosquito.”

@George Abuso Geoabs:

“Is it about physical fighting?”

Ruth is the sister of the late former opposition leader Raila Odinga and has remained a prominent political figure in the Nyanza region.

Her gym post arrives at a politically charged moment, with women across the country being encouraged to take up elective positions at various levels of government.
