Kenyan content creator Mbavu Destroyer has set social media ablaze after footage of him getting close with world record holder and environmentalist Truphena Muthoni began circulating online, apparently leaving his alleged girlfriend Keliah less than impressed.
The drama spilt into the open during a livestream in which Keliah appeared visibly unsettled. When a young man on the stream asked about Mbavu, she was blunt.
“I don’t know. I will show you the last thing I’ve seen,” she said, before pulling up a video of Mbavu and Truphena together in a pool.
The young man watching the clip was momentarily lost for words, eventually suggesting:
“That is his sister,” though his explanation did not seem to land. In one of the videos Mbavu shared, he appeared shirtless in a pool while Truphena swam nearby.
He called her over for a hug, and she laughed before obliging. The caption he wrote left little to the imagination regarding the playful tone he was going for.
“Finally, for the first time, our very own @truphena.muthonii world record holder who hugged the tree for the longest time ever is about to break another record by hugging a living stone,” he wrote.
Truphena is known for setting a world record for the longest tree hug, making her a recognisable face in environmental conservation circles in Kenya.
Keliah did not stop at the pool clip.
She went on to show a second video of the pair aboard a plane, one in which Mbavu chose a romantic song to accompany the footage, with a caption expressing his desire to get to know Truphena better.
