The crash took place in the Daraja Moja area when a pickup collided with the boda boda they were on. The Toyota Hilux pickup, travelling from Jogoo to downtown Kisii, experienced brake failure.
According to County Police Commander Charles Kases, the pickup crashed into the boda boda at the intersection of Kisii-Keroka and Kisii-Nyamira roads, resulting in the death of the two passengers on the motorcycle.
The boda boda, en route from Keroka to Kisii, was struck in the accident. Kevin Bundi, the bodaboda operator, sustained a deep cut to the head and a fracture on the left leg.
He was promptly taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for medical attention.
