The death toll from the Nakuru-Eldoret accident in the Migaa area near Salgaa on Tuesday morning has risen to 13. The accident, which occurred around 5 a.m., involved a PSV bus and multiple vehicles. Among the 13 victims, five were women, seven were men, and one was an infant.

The death toll increased as more bodies were recovered from the wreckage. A total of 55 people were injured and have been admitted to various hospitals in the area. The bus, traveling from Kericho to Nakuru, reportedly lost its brakes while navigating a steep stretch. It then crashed into barriers and other vehicles before landing in a ditch.

Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Jasper Ombati confirmed the incident. The area where the accident occurred is notorious for such deadly crashes, and this is the latest tragedy to be reported there.
