Kamala Harris has accepted the Democratic nomination for president on the final night of the party convention in Chicago. In a heartfelt keynote speech, Harris promised to lead “for all Americans” and to build an “opportunity economy.” Her address also emphasized protecting abortion rights, fostering unity, and advancing working-class aspirations.
Harris called for a ceasefire in Gaza but did not directly address the protests outside the convention concerning US support for Israel. In response, Republican challenger Donald Trump took to social media, questioning, “Why didn’t she address the issues she complains about?”
While Democrats are energized by Harris’s nomination, polls indicate a highly competitive race.
