Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Cabinet Secretary (CS) Hassan Joho attended the commemoration of Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The event, held at the invitation of Indonesia’s ambassador to Kenya, Dr. Mohamad Hery Saripudin, saw Joho congratulate Indonesia on its historic achievement and praise the country’s courage during its struggle for independence.
“I had the great pleasure of attending the commemoration of Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day,” Joho remarked, extending his heartfelt congratulations and acknowledging the bravery of the Indonesian people in their fight for independence.

Hassan Joho also highlighted the strong and cordial relationship between Kenya and Indonesia, noting that their partnership is rooted in shared values and mutual interests.
“Over the years, Kenya and Indonesia have enjoyed warm and cordial relations, grounded in our shared principles and mutual interests for the benefit of the people of the two countries,” Joho stated.
He further expressed his hopes for the future, adding, “May the bonds of friendship between our two countries continue to strengthen for our common good.”
