Former Arsenal star Sol Campbell has criticised midfielder Jorginho after Mikel Arteta’s side were held to a 2-2 draw in Sunday’s North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

Jorginho was brought on at half-time after Declan Rice was forced off with a suspected left calf injury.

The score was locked at 1-1 when the Italy international entered the pitch, thanks to Cristian Romero’s own goal and Son Heung-min’s strike.

Arsenal regained the lead through Bukayo Saka’s second-half penalty but just one minute later, Jorginho made a big error.

The former Chelsea star dallied on the ball and was dispossessed by Tottenham’s James Maddison, who passed the ball to Son for a simple finish past Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

Speaking about Jorginho’s error, which led to Tottenham’s second goal, Campbell told Premier League Productions that the 31-year-old was not playing his game.

Campbell said: “He’s not playing his game. He’s usually getting the ball and moving it quickly—that is his game. He had a chance to pass to Ben White out wide. He was scanning and scanning, and he just got in a muddle and they nicked the ball from him. So many goals are scored in the first five minutes after your opponents score. You have to be aware.”
