Comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested along Uhuru highway as he was heading to State House to deliver CVs.

Amateur footage seen by K24 Digital shows a sweaty Omondi pushing a cart loaded with boxes carrying CVs. Shortly after, he was ambushed by police officers who bundled him into their car before being taken to the police station.

Omondi is not new to controversy as this is the third time the comedian is being arrested.
Other arrests

Earlier this month, Omondi was arrested and arraigned in court after he was caught distributing maize flour at City Stadium along Jogoo Road in Nairobi.

At the time, police stated that Omondi was distributing Unga to everyone who would accompany him to State House,

In his defence, Omondi alleged that he was only helping Kenyans by handing them food.

“Wakenya wenzetu hawana unga. Ni unga tu nilikuwa napeana (my fellow Kenyans have no maize flour. I was just distributing unga),” Omondi told the police.

Before that, Omondi was arrested for leading demonstrations to parliament over the high cost of living.

He was arraigned in court alongside 16 others. The suspects were released on a bond of Ksh20,000 or a cash bail of Ksh10,000.

Last week, the content creator urged Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga to hold daily protests. He claimed that the move will make the government feel the pinch Kenyans are currently experiencing.

“Ningependa kuomba the right honourable Raila Amolo Odinga. Tafadhali make the maandamano Monday to Monday every single day tuaribu kukuwe na holiday, no business should continue,” Eric said.

“Gachagua alisema serikali inapoteza na leo wamepewa pesa ngapi ya kununua magari? 802 million kubuy magari. Maandamano ikue kila siku serikali ikose pesa venye Wakenya wamekosa pesa. Ushaelewa? Wakenya hawana pesa.” he added.
