The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has imposed a seven-year ban on Kenyan athlete Josephine Chepkoech after she was found guilty of using prohibited substance, testosterone.
The ban takes effect from May 7, 2024, and her results from February 18, 2024 have been disqualified as a result.
Chepkoech’s impressive exploits include a personal best marathon time of 2:22:38, which she set in February this year at the Seville Marathon.
The 35-year-old made her marathon debut in 2018 at the Nairobi Marathon, where she dominated timing 2:33:11.
