For Peris Maranga, what began as a simple request from people in her village has grown into a mission that has helped more than 50 people find jobs in Dubai.

Peris shared how her mother became an unexpected catalyst in her journey after villagers started approaching her seeking information on how they could find work in the United Arab Emirates.

From answering questions to changing lives

Her mother’s response was simple: “Call my daughter,” after which she would give them her phone number.

Before long, the Flydubai flight attendant was answering their questions and offering whatever guidance she could.

“At first, it was just one person asking a question. Then another,” she recalled.

Over time, the requests became more frequent, and she found herself helping more people navigate the search for opportunities in Dubai.

Community Grew

What started with phone calls eventually became something much bigger as she has helped more than 50 people find jobs.

This has turned her personal experience and knowledge of opportunities in the UAE into a resource for others hoping to build better lives.

Her efforts also led her to create a WhatsApp group that initially had just 10 people but has since grown into a much larger community, with her online page now approaching 20,000 followers.

Through the platform, Maranga shares job opportunities and advice with people interested in working in the UAE.

Remembering where she started

Behind her desire to help others is an understanding of what it feels like to be searching for a better future without knowing where to begin.

Peris said she still remembers the uncertainty that comes with wanting a better life but lacking information or a clear starting point. That experience has influenced the way she uses her platform today.

“I still remember what it felt like to want a better life and have no idea where to begin,” she said.

Rather than keeping information to herself, she chooses to pass on opportunities and advice whenever she comes across them.

Story in the Numbers

The journey has transformed her role from someone simply answering occasional questions into a source of information for thousands of people.

For Peris, however, the numbers are only part of the story. Each person who finds an opportunity represents someone who may have been looking for a starting point, just as she once did.

She has encouraged those who have benefited from her platform to share it with someone else looking for work in the UAE.

Her willingness to help stems from the fact that she initially struggled to find work in Dubai despite her mother taking a loan for her to buy a ticket.
