A middle-aged man is recuperating at Migori level four hospital after he was allegedly hacked by a police officer attached to Ochuna police post in Migori County.
Makiasa sub-location assistant chief Vincent Otieno says the victim, who was in company of other friends was from Mak Chuori bar when he was attacked by the police officer armed with a panga.
Otieno says they are yet to establish why the police officer attacked the man adding that investigations are underway.
Narrating the ordeal, the victim identified as Kings Owuor says they had a short exchange with the police officer at the bar before he attacked him on his way to his house at around 11.30pm.
While they were still at the club, Owuor says he questioned the officer on why he had been harassing his female friend, something that seemingly angered him.
Owuor says he was headed to his house in company of two other friends when the police officer waylaid them and asked his two friends to go as he remained behind.
He says the police officers hacked him with a panga and left in a hurry. The friends then rushed him to the nearby health facility before he was referred to Migori Level 4 Hospital.
