A Nairobi-based man has been charged with committing an indecent act and intentionally disturbing the peace after he allegedly groped a female on-duty traffic officer along the Thika Superhighway.
Timothy Mule committed the said offences as the female cop, attached to Kasarani Police Station, directed traffic at the Roasters Roundabout.
Mule, who is said to have been in the company of his friends, reportedly committed the offence before casually walking off.
This reportedly prompted other pedestrians who were at the scene to ridicule the officer who was in the company of her colleagues.
Her colleagues however quickly apprehended Mule before whisking him away to Kasarani Police Station where he was booked.
Mule denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh.100,000 or a cash bail of Ksh.80,000 by Makadara Law Courts Chief Magistrate Francis Kyambia.
He is set to appear in court on September 14, 2023 when his case will be mentioned. The trial date has however been set for January 24, 2024.
