Not every celebrity encounter goes according to plan, and content creator Elijah found that out the hard way when he crossed paths with Muhoho Kenyatta at what appeared to be a community event.
Footage from the encounter, captured in a casual handheld style typical of vlog documentaries, shows Elijah weaving through a crowd under a covered walkway, a Pop-Up sign visible in the background, as he spots his opportunity and makes his move.
Elijah’s mission to inspire Kenya’s youth
Elijah runs a social media platform built around interviewing entrepreneurs and millionaires in Kenya, with the goal of motivating young people navigating their way through real life.
It is the kind of content that has carved out a dedicated following, built one conversation at a time.
When he spotted Muhoho, the younger brother of former president Uhuru Kenyatta, the creator did not hesitate.
He introduced himself politely, explaining his platform and his mission before attempting to draw Muhoho into a conversation.
“I’m sorry to interrupt your conversation, but my name is Elijah. I have a social media platform. I’m looking to inspire the next generation of young people who are trying to make it in their real life. I just wanted to ask you…” he said, before the interaction took an unexpected turn.
Did Muhoho ignore Elijah?
Rather than engaging with the interview, Muhoho left Elijah hanging, and the camera caught every awkward second of it.
The spontaneous, unscripted nature of the footage only added to its impact, making the clip feel all the more relatable to viewers who have experienced a cold shoulder at the worst possible moment.
Muhoho, who has largely stayed out of the political spotlight compared to his elder brother, is nonetheless a recognisable figure in Kenya’s business and elite circles.
The unplanned nature of the encounter, set against what looks like a public community gathering, made the whole moment feel all the more candid.

For Elijah, the rebuff has arguably done more for his visibility than a polished sit-down interview ever could, with the video spreading quickly and putting his platform in front of a much wider audience than usual.
He later shared videos where he got to interview Uhuru’s younger brother and his insight into building wealth.
