Detectives made a grim discovery on Sunday, January 21, as they recovered the severed head of a woman at Kiambaa Dam in Kambu County.

The macabre find has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the safety of residents in the area.

The head was found covered in a sack and wrapped in a purple blouse, adding a sinister twist to the already gruesome scene. Kambu Sub County Police Commander PE Muti acknowledged the possibility that the murder of the victim might have occurred elsewhere, with the head intentionally dumped at the dam.

The investigation is now underway to piece together the details surrounding this heinous crime.

The recovered head was swiftly taken to the City Morgue for further examination, as detectives seek to unravel the identity of the victim and the circumstances leading to her brutal demise.

Locals, disturbed by the recurring incidents in the area, have voiced their concerns, citing a similar occurrence last year when a body was discovered.

Police have initiated investigations into the recent case, hoping to shed light on the mystery surrounding the victim’s identity and the motive behind this gruesome act.

The Sunday’s discovery has further intensified their efforts, especially in light of a previous incident involving the dismembered body of Rita Waeni, a university student found in an apartment on TRM Drive where her head was also missing.

In a police report, Simon Kang’ethe, Chief of Karuri, revealed that he received information from the village elder, Joseph Thara of Kimuga village.

The report detailed the observation of a human head floating in Ite Dam at Kimuga village, Kimuga sub-location, Kiambaa location, approximately 6 kilometers northeast of the station.

Upon reaching the scene, police officers were met with a gruesome sight—a decomposed human head of an unknown adult female, floating about 5 meters from the dam’s surface.

The detectives handling the case are diligently pursuing crucial leads, expressing hope for an arrest.

However, they have noted that the nature of the murder suggests a it was done by a professional killer someone who has done this before.
