Kenyan influencer Nurse Judy is living her best life in Japan, sharing stunning moments from a full-day trip to Nikko with her family just days after making a major life move.
The nurse-turned-content creator, whose real name is Wambui Judy Maina, recently announced she was leaving the United States to reunite with her husband Pasha and their children, with the family set to settle in Tanzania where Pasha works. Before heading back to East Africa together, the whole family made a stop in Japan for a memorable vacation.
Nikko wows Nurse Judy and her family
On Day 3 of their Japanese adventure, the family embarked on a full-day Nikko world heritage tour that clearly left a deep impression. Judy took to Facebook to walk her followers through the itinerary, and the excitement in her writing was hard to miss.
The group drove along the Irohazaka Route, a winding mountain road famous for its sharp, dramatic bends. They then took in the breathtaking Kegon Falls, which Judy described as “speechless, magical, and beautiful.” The family also explored Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring more than 40 shrines nestled among towering ancient trees.
Lake Chuzenji and the iconic Shinkyo Bridge rounded out the day’s highlights, with Judy calling the views “magnificent.” She wrapped up the post with a simple but enthusiastic verdict:
“This was a good one!”
A reunion before a new chapter
The Japan trip carries extra meaning beyond tourism. Pasha and the children travelled to Japan to meet Judy before the family makes the journey back to Tanzania together, marking the end of her years-long stint working as a nurse in the United States.
Judy had originally relocated to the US in pursuit of better opportunities, a path many Kenyan professionals have taken in recent years. Her decision to return to Africa to be with her family generated a lot of interest among her followers, with many admiring her choice to prioritise family over career migration.
The Japan vacation, full of world heritage sites, waterfalls and mountain scenery, appears to be a fitting send-off before the family begins their next chapter together on the continent.
