Police in Nyamira are investigating a case where a 22-year-old Chuka University student died after non-stop caning by his uncles in Nyankono village, North Mugirango Constituency.
Brian Mogaka ,is said to have been suspended from Chuka University over alleged involvement cannabis abuse.
The mother, Teresa Mogaka allegedly reached out to his brothers to help her discipline him. The uncles tied Mogaka’s hands and legs and caned him non-stop, until he succumbed to the injuries.
When he died they changed his clothes, laid him in bed and planted cattle pesticide alongside him to conceal evidence. They then ran away.
Ikonge assistant chief Joseph Masese has said the deceased’s body has several bruises and injuries from canes.
