A police officer tragically lost his life in a road accident on Monday, May 13, along the Kiambu-Ruiru Road. The deceased, a police constable stationed at Ruiru Police Station, was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run accident at 10pm.

He was crossing the road with his colleague during their routine night patrol when a speeding car struck him. The vehicle did not stop after the collision.

The officer sustained severe head injuries and a fracture on his left leg. Despite being rushed to Plains View Hospital immediately after the accident, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Fortunately, his colleague, who hesitated to cross the road upon noticing the speeding car, escaped unharmed.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the hospital’s mortuary pending autopsy. Police authorities have initiated a manhunt for the runaway motorist to face charges for the incident.
