President William Ruto has urged Members of Parliament to swiftly pass the Budget 2024-25 to facilitate the delivery of services to citizens. Speaking in Meru during the laying of the foundation stone for Meru Maize Millers, Ruto emphasized the importance of passing the budget to ensure services such as access to electricity for farmers.

“Hawa waheshimiwa nataka tafadhali niwahakikishieni tafadhali pitisheni budget haraka hawa wakulima wanahitaji stima,” he said

He stated that in the next financial year, the government’s main focus will be on building roads, electricity connectivity, and water infrastructure, with plans already set in the budget.

“Tayari tumeweka hio mpango kwa budget yetu,” he said

Additionally, Ruto highlighted the government’s initiative to provide dairy farmers with Sh50 per litre starting in July this year.

National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u is scheduled to present the 2024-25 Financial Year budget at 3 pm on Thursday at Parliament buildings, unveiling the government’s plans for various sectors of the economy.
