Police in Ruaka, Kiambu County, have arrested six robbery suspects and seized two guns believed to have been used in local crimes. Detectives also confiscated various stolen items, including six mobile phones, communication devices like walkie-talkies, and crude weapons used in break-ins.
Ruaka Police Commander Pius Mwanthi confirmed the arrests, noting that the suspects were apprehended following a foiled robbery attempt. The victim alerted officers, who intercepted the getaway car.
Mwanthi acknowledged the rising insecurity in the area and stated that the suspects are believed to be responsible for a series of recent robberies. He reassured the public that law enforcement will remain vigilant to eradicate insecurity.
The six suspects are currently held at Ruaka Police Station, awaiting arraignment.
